A VIT Pune undergraduate alumnus and an Industrial Designer from IDC (IIT Bombay), he started his career styling motorcycles for an automotive company, and shifted gears as a Stanford India Biodesign fellow to design medical device solutions for unmet needs of the country.

Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), a tremendous life-saving potential, which involves keeping a preterm baby in skin to skin contact with a family member, remains less than 10% in implementation. What would it be like to accelerate the uptake of KMC using ‘design’? Can such ideas grow towards making an actual impact? And how do collaboration and partnership help in this front?

The leader of the Pune based India design office of Laerdal Global Health, Mr. Pushkar Ingale hopes to design solutions to save the lives of new-borns and mothers on the day of the birth. He will describe how we may use ‘design’ to help babies grow. Because who wants a baby to begin its life with an early ending?
