An alumnus of the Karad Engineering College, Mr. Ramesh Botaljee worked with esteemed organisations such as the Military Engineer Services and the Pune Municipal Corporation for thirty-five years, before retiring in 2007. An expert in water management and technology, Mr. Botaljee is credited with the invention of a machine that can generate up to 800 litres of water per day by harvesting moisture from air. This revolutionary product has the potential to save many lives in India, where a large share of the population doesn’t have access to safe drinking water. In 2012, he received the prestigious CV Raman award from the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for his contribution to water technology.
He currently serves as the Director of ‘Tap in Air Water Solutions’, a company established with the aim of propagating this product.
